Professor Roche teaches courses in journalism, multimedia storytelling, nonfiction writing, photography, and media ethics. He began at ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵ in 2001, after earning a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Dayton, an M.A. in English from Ohio State University, and an M.A. in Nonfiction Writing and a Ph.D. in English from the University of Iowa. He’s the author of the memoirs Great Expectation: A Father's Diary (Iowa, 2008) and Love's Labors (Riverhead, 1999), and his essays have appeared in Fourth GenreRiver TeethThe North American Review, Under the Sun, Passages North, Chautauqua, and other places. He was a 2005 Fellow in Nonfiction Literature with the New York Foundation for the Arts.
