    Ingram Selected as ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵ's 2024 Graduate Commencement Speaker

    Evelyn C. Ingram, who serves as director of community relations for the Central New York Region of Wegmans Food Markets, will be the commencement speaker for the 2024 graduate ceremony, which will take place on Friday, May 17 at 7 p.m. in the Event Center on the ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵ campus. Ingram has served on ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵ Board of Trustees since 2020.

    In her role at Wegmans, Ingram’s primary responsibilities are oversight of activities in the community investment and media relations arenas, and she serves as the company’s regional spokesperson. Her professional experience includes managerial positions of increasing responsibility in the fields of public relations, marketing and human resources at United Technologies Carrier Corporation and Bristol-Myers Squibb Pharmaceutical Company.     “In addition to her professional accomplishments, Evelyn serves as a wonderful role model for her community involvement throughout the region,” said ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵ President Linda LeMura. “I look forward to hearing an inspiring message for our graduates.”

    A member of a number of boards, she is an active member of Links Inc., one of the nation’s oldest and largest volunteer service organizations of extraordinary women of color who are committed to enriching, sustaining and ensuring the culture and economic survival of African Americans and other persons of African ancestry. In 2015 and 2018, Evelyn served as chair for the Go Red for Women campaign sponsored by the American Heart Association. She is a graduate of the S.I. Newhouse School of Communications at Syracuse University where she majored in public relations. She is also a graduate of ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵ, receiving a master’s degree in business administration in 2002.
